Temporary Trail Closure – October 5, 2021
Please be advised that a section of the trail in Rochester Hills will be temporarily closed tomorrow, Tuesday, October 5th, for invasive species treatment. The trail will be closed from Dutton Road to the Moutrie Pollinator Garden (1/4 mile north of Tienken). Please do not cross the barriers while treatment is in progress. The barriers will be removed once it is safe to travel through the area.
Venue Change: Paint Creek Trail Ribbon Cutting & Recognition Ceremony
Due to forecasted inclement weather, today’s (Sept. 21) ribbon cutting and recognition ceremony has been moved to the Paint Creek Cider Mill, located at 4480 Orion Rd., Rochester, MI 48306.
Dutton Parking Lot Closed Tuesday, September 21
The Dutton parking lot will be closed today, September 21st, from 7am until 6pm. Alternate parking locations include the Silverbell or Tienken parking lots or the Paint Creek Cider Mill.

Controlled Burn on Trail May 14, 2021
Please be advised that controlled burns will be held along the Paint Creek Trail today. The purpose of the burns is to stimulate the prairie and oak savanna plant communities along the trail while discouraging invasive plants such as buckthorn, autumn olive, and multiflora rose. The burn will begin around 10:30 or 11 am at the first burn unit between Silverbell Rd and Dutton Rd, and will move to the Paint Creek Heritage Area – Wet Prairie just north of Silverbell Rd when that burn is complete. Please use caution if you are planning on visiting these areas.
Trail Work in Oakland Township on Thursday, March 25, 2021
Please be advised that Thursday, March 25, 2021, crews will be surveying and taking soil borings on the trail just north of the Royal Oak Archers site in Oakland Township. Temporary closures may occur as a result of this work. Please use caution in this area.
