The Friends of the Paint Creek Trail is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the future of the Trail and promoting environmental stewardship. Our mission is to encourage the use, maintenance, improvement, and enjoyment of the Paint Creek Trail.
We work closely with the Paint Creek Trailways Commission and Trail Management to organize community activities, including trail rides, walks, and Trails Day events.
One of our proudest achievements is the creation and ongoing care of the Moutrie Pollinator Garden along the Trail in Rochester Hills. Our volunteers plant, maintain, and enhance this beautiful garden, ensuring it remains a vibrant spot for both people and pollinators. We are always seeking new volunteers to help us keep this special place thriving.
Members of the Friends serve as Trail ambassadors. They attend quarterly meetings—typically held in person at the Paint Creek Cider Mill—where they share ideas, help plan events, and provide input on Trail management. Members also volunteer at events and help bring new projects to life.
Our fundraising efforts, including merchandise sales, donations, and special events, enable us to sponsor projects and improvements along the Trail. Thanks to the support of our members and donors, we have funded the installation of bike FIXIT stations, bike racks, and water fountains—all for the enjoyment of Trail users.
Donations are always appreciated and increase the effectiveness of our activities. All donations are tax-deductible-eligible.
