Tour de Trail this Saturday, June 4th!

Lake Orion, Michigan: On Saturday, June 4, 2022, join the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail and the Paint Creek Trailways Commission for a fun, family-friendly event in downtown Lake Orion in celebration of National Trails Day.

Participants can start their morning with a run, walk or cycle on the Paint Creek Trail and then head to the EXPO where they will find kiosks featuring information and displays relating to Paint Creek Trail activities like cycling, running, walking, safety, etiquette, and more.

A number of fun activities for kids will also be available including a bike rodeo set up in the parking lot adjacent to the Orion Art Center, which will allow children to learn and practice critical navigational and safety skills. Free bicycle helmets (while supplies last) will also be available along with a decorating station for kids to add some fun flair to their new helmets.

Food trucks and kiosks will offer food and beverages, including beer and soda, for purchase.

EXPO entry is free to the public.

“This is by far the most expansive and engaging event we have ever planned,” said Louis Carrio, President of the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail. “It is an event that incorporates a variety of trail activities with the goal of engaging the entire family.”

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the lower municipal lot in downtown Lake Orion at Anderson and Front Streets.

Tour de Trail is sponsored by Builders Custom Flooring, Cookies and Cream by Sprout Bake, Haney Farm Bureau Insurance, M & B Graphics, and Oat Soda.
