The Trailways Commission sponsors two major events each year – National Trails Day and the Labor Day Bridge Walk.  Other events are in conjunction  with our Friends of the Paint Creek Trail group. The following official Trail events have been scheduled for 2017:

6th Annual Motor City Bike and Brew Tour – Cruisin’ for the Trails Fundraiser Saturday, May 5, 2018
National Trails Day celebration – Ribbon cutting to officially open the Lake Orion Trail Extension, Children’s Park, Lake Orion National Trails Day – Saturday, June 2, 2018
13th Annual Labor Day Bridge Walk and Run Monday, September 3, 2018

The 6th Annual Cruisin’ for the Trails benefits our Friends of the Paint Creek Trail group. Registration is handled through the Motor City Brew Tours.  The National Trails Day celebration is a free open-house style event which includes a ribbon cutting to open the Lake Orion Trail Extension, a family friendly walk on the Trail, a craft with Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve and a recognition ceremony honoring Trail volunteers and supporters. The Labor Day Bridge Walk is a walking & running event, open to all ages.  It is a free event, with suggested donations toward various trail improvement projects.

All events are staffed by our Friends of the Paint Creek Trail group.

Group events by various non-profits or organizations require permission to use the trail, and require insurance.  Visit our Group Events page for more information.
