What is included with my adult ticket? MCBT SWAG, 2 Donuts at the Paint Creek Cider Mill, 2 beers (1 at the Oat Soda Lake Orion Bar and 1 at Rochester Mills Beer Co.). Food for purchase will be available at Oat Soda and Rochester Mills Beer Co. Bike support from Main Street Bicycles at registration. We will have a charity raffle at the end of the ride inside Rochester Mills Beer Co (back room area). Net proceeds benefit the Friends of the Paint Creek Trail. Are children allowed on this ride? With every paid adult ticket (for those 21 and older), one minor is allowed to attend the event. Only paid adults of legal drinking age will receive the SWAG – please bring an ID to event check-in. Please keep in mind that there is not a SAG support vehicle for the ride, so any children need to be able to complete the ride with you. We will have bikers patrolling the route to help anyone in need of assistance with their bike during the ride.
What time does the bike ride start? Registration begins at main entrance of Rochester Mills Beer Co – 400 Water St, Rochester, MI 48307 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. Oat Soda – stop and Paint Creek Cider Mill are open for riders from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. The winners of the raffle items will announced or listed at Rochester Mills Beer Co at 1:30-2 pm.
How far do we bike and is it hard? The main bike tour route is 20 miles round-trip if you bike from Rochester Mills Beer Co in downtown Rochester to Oat Soda Bar in Lake Orion and back the Rochester Mills. The Paint Creek Cider Mill is right off the trail at the half-way point of the ride. You bike on your own and go as far as would like.
Where does the bike ride begin and where should I park? The ride departs from and returns to Rochester Mills Beer Co – 400 Water St, Rochester, MI 48307. The event parking lot is directly behind the Rochester Mills Beer Co and in the other downtown Rochester parking lots and on the street. Registration for this event is in the front entrance of the building. Please note – the front parking lot of Rochester Mills Beer Co will be closed off for the registration timing of the event. Additional public parking lots are available around the Rochester Farmers Market and across from the Post Office & Rochester Public Library. You can bike over to Rochester Mills from those lots.
What is the policy regarding cancellations for this Bike Ride: Reservation Fees received by Motor City Brew Tours are non-refundable and not transferable to other events. If you are unable to attend an event, bike ride tickets can always be transferred to another guest. They just give your name at the event registration at Rochester Mills Beer Co between 9:30 am-10:30 am. No need to notify us if you do this.
What type of bike is recommended for this ride? Mountain, comfort or road bikes are fine for this bike route. You will be riding on rail trails that are paved, hard packed rock and dirt surfaces. For your safety, helmets are strongly recommended for all of our events.
What should I bring with me on the bike tour? Yourself, a bike in good working condition, helmet, water, bike lock, identification, cell phone, a little money for other purchases, tire pump and a spare bike tube. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing, sunblock and rain gear (if needed)
